Final

Yep so this is the final product. I decided to do a simple Christmas card. I used the gumball machine tutorial to create my ornaments. I also used the christmas tree tutorial. I personally wasn't too crazy about the reeth, but I tried to make the best out of it. I absolutely LOVED the quote and found it necessary to include a black bird. :) I used a gradient as my pattern instead of making one. That's pretty much it.

Just for Fun [:

I did this partially for fun and then I got an insane idea that I could use this as my product, so I'm getting good use out of it. :)

CATE Logo

My CATE logo. Overall I'm pretty satisfied. I came from a Technology point of view when making this, hence the computer mouse. :)

Reinterpretation of ABC Logo

My interpretation of the ABC logo using the acronyms CATE.

Logo Design

I chose to do something simple, yet graceful. I more than definitely wanted to use my initials, but I got inspired to overlap them on top of each other from an example I saw. I decided to add the name of my company under my logo because I want the customer to know who is working for them. :)

Expressions!

These are just a few words that describe me. I tried to eliminate as much space as possible, but after a while I couldn't think of any other words to describe myself, even though I know there are plenty more. I emphasized emotional with an arc shape because, just like anybody, my emotions are like a roller coaster at some point, so with the arc I figured it would give that effect. I also emphasized the weird with the "d" falling off to show that I'm not all there sometimes and I can be quite strange. :) I boxed the "sports addict" section because sports are insanely important to me. I adore all those teams in the brackets and I actually DO know a lot about sports. More than a typical girl. Not bragging, but guys don't believe it usually. For my last word that I emphasized, I chose to do "English Nerd." English is personally my favorite subject. I love reading, doing essays (blah I know, weird:)) and I hope to pursue a career in writing, so yeah!

Vector Effect

Blah. I'm not too crazy about this. I found this tutorial to be extremely difficult, but I pulled through. Ashley-1 Technology-0. :D

McDonald's Sign

This was actually really hard to make. Seems pretty easy, but it was insanely difficult. I used the pen tool for the arch and then used the envelope distort option (we have yet to learn about this) for the trapezoid under the McDonald's text. Everything else was the basic tools, such as, the rectangle tool and the line tool. As well as the text option. I really didn't enjoy this tutorial, but I'm beginning to like Illustrator a lot more. :)

Spiral Design

For my spiral design I used the lyrics from John Mayer's song, Gravity. He writes about how everything is going against him and how even Gravity, the one thing that keeps us sane and down on the Earth (literally) is doing the same. I felt that the song went really well with the spiral idea because so many people these days have moments where they believe everything is "spiraling" out of control, but what they forget is when a spiral starts becoming smaller and getting closer together, everything meets up at the end, meaning that everything in the end will come together. (: I found that to be a cool analogy considering John Mayer's song talks about breaking down and losing hope and then he fights back just as a spiral starts out wide and going downhill, but eventually comes together at the end.

monsta monsta!

My glyph monster is pretty basic. I used the letters and number and symbols to make up his stomach area and for the rest of his body I used the slashes or straight lines. I think my monster gives a little bit of attitude! ;D

my quote (:

My quote is basically saying choose your heart over your mind. Do as you feel not what you think. This idiom is usually used whenever somebody encounters a difficult, emotional decision. Another quote I love that goes along with this thought process as well is, "smart listens to the head.. stupid listens to the heart.. be stupid." <3 Unfortunately, I wasn't able to make a second one. At least I don't think I was able to. Uh, yeah. (: Oh and sorry for all the white space before this. :[

EOD BLOG! [:

On the third Coca Cola bottle, the main interesting thing about this image is the horizontal lines, as well as the colors. Usually horizontal lines indicated tension, but for this specific image I don't agree. I mean I'm not exactly jumping up and down in excitement, but I find it entertaining to look at? (: As for the second Coco Cola bottle, I like how the colors fade from dark to light back to dark. It catches your eyes attention. Lastly for the first bottle I find the text boring and so cliche. Typical red color and typical font.
As for this picture, it uses horizontal and vertical lines, as well as some diagonal and curved. I think in a way all the lines balance and compliment each other in this picture. There's also color in here, black and white obviously. Personally I adore this picture. <3
This picture is psycho! Ha I absolutely love it! Anyways, the elements of design incorporated into this photo are without a doubt color and lines. There's a lot of chaos going on, a lot of zigzag lines which indicate restlessness and this picture definitely portrays that greatly. The colors purple, orange, yellow, white, and pink compliment each other so well that no color is dominating another.
Obviously this picture represents direction, literally. I chose it because one, I love it, and two it's a sign telling you what to do.. Or also known as giving direction. The street sign also gives direction as well.
I chose this picture to represent shape. The fish and birds represent positive space, while everything else around them that isn't taken up by anything, represents negative space.
For texture I chose to use snow as my example because it's implied texture looks hard and solid, but in reality it's REAL texture is in fact soft and instead of it being a solid it's a liquid. TRIIIIICKY! :)
Value refers to the lightness and darkness of a photo, so with that being said, this photo shows both dark shading and light shading. On the first photo the artist puts a lot of emphasis on the dark areas of the photo to make the white areas POP. They do the same thing for the second and third one too, but on the fourth they use less and lighter shading to make the black pop this time. The little black dots especially pop because of the light shading behind them.

Hm, I think I got everything?
The end. :P

Ashley Camarillo- My Bio! [:

So I've been told that I should blog about myself. The way I take, "blog about yourself," is more than likely not the way my teacher, Mrs. Klein, is thinking about. So, with that being said, I'll do it the way I believe she wants me to do it. Hm, here it goes. (: As a person I'm unique. One of a kind. I have a different view on life. I'm sixteen years old and when I say I'm not your typical teenager, it's not an over exaggeration. I enjoy the little things in life and I believe that's how the whole world should be. If we take time to go for a walk outside and enjoy the NATURAL beauty we have graciously been given, we would all feel better inside. It's little things like that, that make me happy to be alive. That was my little preview about who I am, but here goes the other part that I believe Mrs. Klein wants to hear. (: Over the summer I tried to stay outside as much as possible. Hiking, tubing, fishing, camping, laying in my hammock, and tanning were more than definitely the highlight of my summer. Although I did go river hopping, which is where you go to different rivers and tube down them in a certain amount of time. It was great, but other then that I hung out with friends. Now onto some of my personal life? I really don't know what to say.. hm, my family is separated. I live with my mom and step dad and my dad and step mom live in town. In a way it's really not a great thing, but then again it's wonderful in so many aspects. <3 I have 2 siblings, where neither of them are 100% biological. My step sister is thirteen, she's an absolute genius and the weirdest person I've ever met. My half sister is one and is my love. I adore her more than anything, she makes me smile more than any other living being on this Earth. My mom is pregnant again, with what we hope to be is a boy. I have three dogs and two cats. Oh and a fish named Oliver. I have an amazing boyfriend as well. (: I work at Chicken Express, which I absolutely love. It's not the most glamorous job, but everybody there is pretty great, so it makes it more fun. I take part in my youth, STAY, and am apart of the PULSE team there. It's one of the best things ever. I love music. It gets me through anything. A Day To Remember is my absolute favorite band in the world, thanks to my boyfriend Ricky. (: I used to play sports, but quit after I injured both my knees, so now I'm just a student who has dreams of going to Texas or TCU to pursue a career in journalism, sports management, or design. Who knows? (: Oh and my personality color is blue! :D
